Many glazing companies don’t get to create lasting working relationships with clients as their work on a property is generally a one-off installation project.
Whilst we love working on one-off projects, whether that be in someone’s gorgeous period home or historic buildings such as cathedrals and universities, we feel really lucky that we do get to build long-lasting relationships with some of our customers.
One such relationship we have is with Hatfield Estates in Hertfordshire.
Hatfield House owns, lets and manages around 200 residential properties and a large portfolio of offices, warehouses, workshops and business units with an ongoing programme continuing to add further unique properties every year.
The residential properties range in size and type from period farmhouses and townhouses to former Estate worker’s cottages and modern flats while the commercial spaces range from 500 sq ft units to 10,000 sq ft in both traditional commercial districts as well as a number of converted stables and barns in more rural settings.
It’s a beautiful setting and one we always enjoy returning to – and we can’t help but think how wonderful it would be to live or work in one of their characterful properties.
As a landlord, they obviously take great care in maintaining all of their properties to a high standard and they also make sure they meet all legislative requirements – such as the energy performance target we’ve highlighted in our previous article.
As their rental properties change hands, they use the time they are unoccupied to renovate and upgrade them and we have been called in on numerous occasions over a number of years to fit our secondary glazing – creating cosier, warmer and quieter homes and comfortable work spaces for incoming tenants.
They recognised that our glazing system offers all of the benefits of modern double glazing without impacting their appearance and often listed status. Being called upon time and again demonstrates how much they trust our workmanship and value the results we provide.
Hatfield Estates said: “We are fortunate that the majority of our tenants enjoy living in Hatfield Park for many years. However, when the opportunity does arise to take a property back in hand, we like to breathe 21st century life into it, whilst retaining all architectural and period features.
“We are currently working our way through a residential portfolio, refurbishing properties to the high standard that our tenants expect.
“The Estate also recognises the benefit in renovating the beautiful but derelict historic buildings, traditional barns and stable blocks and has seen a growing demand for these converted business units. Work is carried out using the highest quality specifications, ensuring original features are maintained but also ensuring all the necessary technology for today’s business is in place.
“Many of our commercial tenants are already enjoying the advantages of a prestigious location away from the stress of a city working environment – congestion, pollution, and the time taken up with commuting. Our tenants find the attractive environment offers a more conducive working atmosphere, whilst sustaining the benefits of easy access and sophisticated communications.”
We look forward to working with them for many years to come.
