It seems 2019 is the year of Mother Earth where décor is concerned. Nature-inspired hues of earthy browns, leafy greens and elegant blues are accented by feminine, dusky rose pinks and a slightly bolder bronze bringing the warmth of summer forests into our living spaces.
Premium interior design suppliers such as Farrow & Ball are leading the way with natural shades of wall colour and delicate flower spray wallpapers, reflective of our urge to be more in-tune with our natural world. Floors and furnishings are also taking a rustic twist as natural wood and slate become the go-to picks to bring nature past our doorstep in both contemporary and period homes.
But, if you really want to bring the beauty of the outdoors in, why not frame your views with nature-inspired hues too?
Thanks to new colour-mixing technology, your home décor theme is no longer limited to walls, floors and furnishings. At Storm, we can give your new look an extra edge, producing our frames in any RAL colour to perfectly complement your interior design theme and complete your 2019 look.
Taking inspiration from some of the hot new colour trends for 2019, we’ve put together some of our own design ideas with coloured window accents that will frame the summer light and bring your room to life.
Sculpt your room with deep and earthy neutrals
We’re loving the Sherwin-Williams 2019 colour of the year – Cavern Clay. This deep, earthy hue envelops you in its warmth, part-way between a soft desert sand and spicier Mediterranean terracotta it’s a unique statement colour that forms a perfect backdrop to a nature-inspired room.
Add some romantic blooms with Farrow and Ball’s Peony BP 2303 wallpaper. This pretty floral print perfectly softens the brown and will bring a light-reflecting silvery hue to the room.
To pull the whole scheme together, use stone grey RAL 7030 on your window frames.
Go for glorious green
Benjamin Moore’s 2019 colour of the year is Metropolitan Grey, which didn’t really hit the mark for us. But – amongst the palette of complementary colours introduced along with it is this sumptuous Beau Green, which we adore!
Teamed with Little Greene’s Palais Galliard wallpaper, from their Revolution collection, it combines traditional elegance with a dash of contemporary panache.
The piece-de-resistance is Light Ivory RAL 1015 painted window frames, which will soften the edges of your room and create a sunlit rosy glow in-fitting with the floral feature wall.
Create a statement
Why not let your windows become the statement in the room? We used this Reed Green RAL 6013 as our starting point and combined it with natural stone shades and leafy paper to create a muted forest feel.
Both the wall colour and wallpaper are Farrow and Ball designs. Jitney, a relaxed brown-based neutral tone blends effortlessly with the 19th-century French textile-inspired Feuille wallpaper.
Together, we think they look gorgeous!
