The scale, range and complexity of cyber and digital crime is growing by the day.
Organisations have to work hard to stay one step ahead of the criminals. The consequences of a cyber-attack can be severe for any company, whether the criminals are looking to hold the company to ransom, steal valuable data or merely cause disruption. Putting problems right after the event can be costly, and there’s reputational damage to consider as well.
With that in mind, Storm Windows has been looking at what we could do to toughen up our protection against the digital bad guys. We decided to work towards Cyber Essentials certification, a government back scheme for companies that follow the core principles of cyber security. This highly regarded and internationally recognised programme has helped us to deepen our knowledge and beef up our existing security protocols. We understand that there’s no room for half-measures when it comes to cyber security and achieving certification reflects that fact.
Securing certification means that our customers can have confidence that any data we hold for them will be secure. Certification is also a requirement for any organisation that wishes to bid for Ministry of Defence or Government contracts, something we envisage doing in the future.
We’ll continue to look at how we can strengthen our security and respond to different threats as they emerge.
