THE BRIEF
The feature curved window frames and glass in
two large bays at the front of the house made this magnificent 1890s house in Stirling unique in its street – but the ageing frames meant draughts, and thin original glass caused problems with heat retention and noise pollution.
OUR WORK
Having beautifully curved windows, owners Mr and Mrs Taylor were concerned that an additional glazing system would hinder the appearance, so they were delighted to find out that we offered the latest curved glass secondary glazing technology which provided an aesthetically pleasing finish whilst still adhering to conservation requirements.
We installed in total three curved lower vertical sliding sash units and seven curved slimline units into both of the bay windows.
THE RESULT
With secondary glazing in place the house is noticeably quieter, warmer and comfortable.
Furthermore, the owner no longer has to wipe up condensation every morning as she used to and the house feels considerably brighter.
