This month, it’s the turn of Mitchell Reece, our Technical Manager. Mitchell is often out and about, enjoying a very varied role, as he explains here:
“As well as assisting with the day to day running of Storm Windows, my role as Technical Manager encompasses a variety of other tasks.
I’m often out and about on the road, introducing myself and our product to prospective customers both at a residential and commercial level.
My role also encourages the development and flexibility of our product to allow us to provide the ideal solution for the individual property, as the requirements of Listed and Historic buildings can at times be intricate.
I also deal with commercial projects of all scales. They can often be quite complex as there are many stages prior to the installation of our glazing, therefore I am required to regularly liaise with architects, conservation officers and contractors to assist with the understanding of how our product is manufactured and installed.
I also have to ensure that as a company are able to comply with all the regulations such as listed building constraints as well as health and safety requirements.
Having always had a keen interest in historic architecture and construction methods being able to visit a variety of listed and historic properties is a highlight of my job.
These period properties range in condition and having the privilege to see inside of them and witness the extensive renovation works makes my job very interesting.
Occasionally on site, we will see old-fashioned trades and skills such as lime plastering and stone masonry which demonstrates the remarkable attention to detail required for the renovation of these period properties – one of the favourite parts of my job!
